Privacy policy

Last updated October 5, 2026

Found is a photo rediscovery app operated by Jonathan Beller. It works with your Apple Photos library without requiring a Found account.

Photo access

Found accesses the photos you allow through Apple's permission controls. You can choose Full Access or Selected Photos, add more selected photos, or revoke access in iPhone Settings. Found uses available photo identifiers and metadata to select and display photos, support favorites, and prepare sharing and reminders.

Photos and local app data

Found processes photos on your device and does not upload your photo library to a Found server. Browsing history, decisions, deletion queues, preferences, and reminder state are stored locally. Prepared image copies may be stored locally for display, sharing, and notification attachments.

Apple Photos and iCloud remain governed by your Apple settings. When an image is stored in iCloud, Apple may download it to your device when required. This is separate from uploading photos to Found.

Favorites and deletion

Favoriting a photo updates its favorite status in Apple Photos. Marking a photo for deletion adds it to a review queue; deletion occurs only after confirmation. Removing Found does not delete the original photos from Apple Photos.

Reminders

Photo reminders are optional. When enabled, Found prepares reminders on your device to bring a forgotten photo back to your screen. The photo may be visible on your lock screen. If no usable photo is available, Found may send a text-only reminder. You can turn photo reminders off in Found or disable notifications in iPhone Settings.

Sharing

When you choose Share, Found creates a temporary branded copy and opens the system share sheet. The recipient or app you select receives the content you choose to share under that service's own privacy practices. Found does not change the original photo to add its branding.

Accounts, advertising, and tracking

Found does not require an account and does not use advertising or cross-app tracking. The app does not include a third-party analytics service to track your photo browsing.

Support messages and this website

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot. Avoid sending sensitive photos unnecessarily. You can request deletion of support correspondence by contacting us.

This website does not include advertising, analytics scripts, or a contact form. The hosting service may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and secure the site. This policy does not control the independent practices of Apple, your email provider, or apps you choose for sharing.

Your choices

You can change Photos and notification permissions in iPhone Settings. Uninstalling Found removes its local app data according to iOS behavior; device backups and any copies you have shared are managed separately by their respective services.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Found changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. For privacy questions or requests, contact jbeller123@gmail.com.
