Common questions

How do I change photo access?

Found works with Full Access or Selected Photos. With Selected Photos, use Add More Photos in Found's Settings to choose more. If access was denied, open iPhone Settings, find Found, and change its Photos permission.

Does swiping left delete a photo?

No. It adds the photo to your deletion review queue. Nothing is deleted until you review and confirm it. Confirmed deletions go to Recently Deleted in Apple Photos, where Apple normally allows recovery for 30 days.

Why isn't an iCloud photo available?

Some photos are stored in iCloud and aren't currently available on your phone. Found can browse prepared local photos offline, but unavailable images may require a connection. Reconnect and try again. Sharing may also require the image to download.

How do photo reminders work?

When enabled, Found schedules reminders 24–36 hours apart. A prepared photo preview is included when available. iOS notification settings, Focus, and preview preferences can affect how a reminder appears. You can turn reminders off in Found's Settings or manage permission in iPhone Settings.

Does sharing change the original?

No. Found prepares a separate copy with a small “Rediscovered with FOUND” attribution. Your original photo remains unchanged.

Is an account required?

No Found account is required. Found launches as a free app with no in-app purchases.
